Track Lighting
BKAC has embarked on a collaborative effort with the City of Charlottesville and Charlottesville City Schools and we have committed to raising funds for the procurement of lights at the CHS track. The overall cost to light the track is approximately $326,000. After securing a grant that requires matching funds, we are in the home stretch and we firmly believe we can complete the fundraising in 2024.
We recognize the significance of this enhancement, as it will not only benefit our student-athletes but also the broader community. The addition of lights to this facility will provide a safe and accessible space for physical activity and recreational pursuits, extending the usability beyond daylight hours for city schools and area youth athletic teams to practice, community members to exercise, and enabling CHS to host major track and field events.
